How is the Economic Map created?
The Economic Map is the predecessor of today's Real Estate Map. It was the first map to combine real estate information and geographical information with a high level of positional accuracy and detail in a single product. The Economic Map ceased to be produced in 1978.
What benefits can the Economic Map provide?
Today, the Economic Map, with all the collected information from this era, is an important source of knowledge for nature and cultural heritage conservation, for real estate and community planning, and for the agricultural and forestry industries.
The map has long been an important tool for authorities and administrations in the planning of agriculture and forestry, road building, the construction of power lines and the assessment of housing construction cases.
The economic map is therefore a goldmine for those who own property or are generally interested in a given area in Sweden, especially from a historical perspective. With an orthophoto at the bottom, the map also provides a picture of what the landscape looked like at the time.
