IT at Metria
Metria develops and manages geographic IT solutions
By creating, analyzing, refining and visualizing data, Metria contributes with valuable information to companies, municipalities and authorities. Our offering covers the entire chain from identifying customer needs to collecting, analyzing and visualizing data to create insights that lead to smarter, safer and greener decisions.
We develop SaaS and customized solutions for a variety of industries and businesses. Our products and services are built on our proprietary platforms that can be used in different ways, for example via web, mobile or api. We also help customers with solutions based on Esri's services.
Information security - secure handling of geodata
We and our customers need to be confident that information is handled securely. Metria has taken a holistic approach to information security and created a functioning long-term process to offer our customers the protection they need.
We are certified according to the international standard for both information security, ISO 27001, and quality, ISO 9001.
The ISO 27000 series is based on protecting information and complying with current information security legislation, and since it is often digitized today, it naturally also includes cybersecurity. The risk-based approach contributes to the continuous development of the security field and can be adapted to customer-specific needs if necessary.
Metria's data storage and development is in Sweden
Up-to-date, relevant and quality-assured information can affect both lives and major economic values. With our own Sweden-based data center, we ensure both operation and quality of a range of services and products in geodata and maps. We ensure continuity through redundant data centers and backup management in Sweden. In the data center, we also manage our customers' information in a secure way.
We work with the largest and most well-established Internet Service Providers (ISPs) on the Swedish market with a high reputation. The bandwidth capacity exceeds the total nominal average demand by more than 85%, to ensure stable operation under all conditions.
Metria is DORA compliant
The information security laws in the EU and Sweden are many and growing. Metria is working to identify new requirements from legislation and customers to optimize our information and IT security in products and services.
The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is an example of an EU regulatory framework that aims to effectively manage and minimize digital risks in the financial sector. It covers all financial firms and IT service providers in the EU.
DORA harmonizes existing rules for the management of ICT (Information, Communication, Technology) in terms of governance, risk management and incident reporting and covers five main areas that set out requirements and expectations for different aspects of operational resilience;
- ICT risk management
- reporting of ICT-related incidents
- digital defense testing
- risk management of third-party IT service providers
- information sharing
Metria's IT department has all the skills required for modern system development.
We develop applications for web and mobile, with a strong focus on providing SaaS solutions built on our own platforms. We also deliver customized solutions, including those based on Esri's software, and package and process data for our customers' business systems.
IT colleagues work as system developers, architects, UX designers, project managers, support technicians or operations technicians. For example, they build smart microservices on our new information platform and work on a sharp front end for visualizing analytics.
We believe it's important to create space for innovation; that's why we have skills sharing forums and regular hackathons. Our people enjoy solving complex problems, and sharing their knowledge and creativity with humility and humor. Does this sound like you, and do you also like Java, TypeScript and working in autonomous, agile teams? Then you will thrive with us!
