Terrain shading is a visualization of heights in the terrain. By illuminating from one direction and simulating shadow, you get a sense of what the terrain looks like and you can distinguish ditches, valleys, peaks, roads, etc.
How is Terrain Shading created?
Terrain shading is produced from the National Elevation Model, grid 1+.
What benefits can Terrain Shading provide?
Terrain shading is used to visualize how the ground looks, for example, to get a picture of trench routing or elevation conditions in the terrain. Terrain shading is therefore better suited for visualization than analysis.

How to shop in our e-commerce
To shop in our e-commerce, you can choose between;
- payby card with access to grid products and reports and pay per purchase by credit card. Create an account directly in the service and you'll be up and running in no time.
- Ifyousign a contract and become a premium user, you will also get access to vector products and the opportunity to choose more formats. You pay by invoice or card. A contract costs SEK 1,500 per year and SEK 500 in start-up fee.
