The raster road map is ideal as a background map and as input for GIS applications. It is suitable for use in the scale ranges 1:30 000 - 1:100 000. The content includes administrative boundaries, land types, roads, railways, mountain information and contour lines with a 10 m equidistance.

The road map raster is based on Lantmäteriet's basic geographic databases where the information has been collected with different quality in terms of location uncertainty, content and timeliness. The information has then been automatically generalized to fit the scale area.

It includes buildings, facilities, soil types and hydrography. The product also contains roads from the Swedish Transport Administration as well as Lantmäteriet's reviewed and approved names retrieved from the Place Name Register.

The road map raster is useful for users who are focused on relatively general regional planning with the map as a basis, such as various types of transportation planning. The product provides a good picture of land types, elevations, water bodies, infrastructure and major buildings, and mountain information.
