The business community is calling for faster, cheaper and simpler environmental permitting processes, according to an article in Dagens Industri. Mapping environmental risks is both time-consuming and costly, but new technology involving the analysis of satellite images could mean a change.

Metria already supplies several customers with such analyses and Maria Nilsson, Group Manager at Metria, is interviewed in the article. She believes that satellite analysis, together with cheaper drone technology, has the potential to reduce the cost of environmental permitting processes in the future.

- "It's much easier to get satellite data today compared to just a few years ago. But it's not just about being cheaper, it's also about being able to do mapping that would have been impossible to do before," she says.
