GISS invites to AW together with Metria
Theme: Satellite data, national land cover data and climate risks
At Metria, the production of the next generation of national land cover data (NMD) is currently underway on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. Land cover mapping is an important basis for work on biodiversity, sustainable land use, ecosystem services, urban development and planning, and climate and vulnerability. Among other things, Metria will talk about how satellite data and AI are used in the production of NMD.
Climate risks are another topical area in both the public sector and the private sector. Metria will talk about information and analysis on several different types of risks that can be used to provide an overall picture of the risks in an area. To understand how climate-related risks affect our society, we can use geographic information to figure out where the risks are greatest and analyze how they will affect us.
Program:
Leg stretchers
Buffet and mingle
Speakers: Carl Gilljam, Susanne Ingvander, Maria Nilsson, Lena Lüning, Fredrik Olsson Alvebro, Martin Hising
